Fun at the European WSOP

The Las Vegas World Series of Poker was once again a huge success earlier this year. The excitement is set to continue this week as the European WSOP launched last week. The World Series of Poker is the world’s most prestigious poker event and attracts some of the leading poker professionals from around the world. Both the US and European WSOP are extremely popular with the A list of poker professionals chasing the coveted WSOP bracelets. The years European event has already produce one champion Jesper Hougaard.
Hougaard, a online and land based poker pro from Denmark is tipped to contend in many events during the WSOP Europe, and is expected to be involved in the main event. The European events do not only attract the professionals but also amateurs that dream of being world poker champions, and walking away with one of the top prizes. The events really do build up tension and produce some amazing competition.
The first event did not disappoint, the tension built towards the end of the event, with an exciting finish as a couple of big names and some relative unknown poker players competing for the top prize. Eventually, Hougaard conquered, taking home GBP 144,218 in prize money, he defeated Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Adam Junglen to claim the top prize.
