Further Banning of the Online Casinos
September 29, 2008
The US government passed the controversial UIGEA just over two years ago and faced international criticism as a result of the ban. It seems now that individual US stats have followed suite and are planning to block any online casino activity. Steve Beshear, the governor of Kentucky announced that the focus will now turn to individual online sites.
The plan is simple, Kentucky will supply a list of gambling sites, any of sites on the list that continue to target Kentucky gamblers will face losing their domain name. This news comes as a shock as Kentucky boasts one of the most developed betting systems. Kentucky based gamblers are allowed to gamble online and place bets on the states horse races but are not allowed to place wagers in any online casinos.
This hypocritical view is considered to be the policy on which the current legislation US government was based. Many feel that the government has a lot of work to do on the current legislation and its view on allowing international companies to target US based players.
